Residents in apartment homes managed by BECO can use Amazon Alexa skills to:
- Check account balance
- Submit maintenance requests
- Make payments
- Hear leasing office hours
Enable the RENTCafé® Alexa Skill to access resident services through voice commands. Learn how to use Alexa enabled devices to accomplish each task by watching this video.
- Say “Alexa, Open Rent Cafe”
- Then use one of the following:
- “What’s my balance”
- “Make a payment”
- “Put in a service request”
- “Office hours”
Use of the Alexa skill with RentCafé requires that you have set up a RentCafé account online and enabled the skill through the Alexa Skills Store or through the Alexa App. After setting up a voice code, you can say “Alexa, ask RENTCafé to pay my rent” to send payment or initialize other actions.
If you intend to make payments with Alexa, opt in to receiving text messages and set up a four-digit PIN and payment account for paying your balance with Text-to-Pay. The Resident Services Alexa skill requires this same PIN to make payments.
To opt in to text-to-pay: On your resident home page, in the SMS Alerts section, type your mobile number. Click Opt In. A message appears asking you to check your phone to confirm opt-in to receiving texts.
